Work Permits in Guyana: An Employer's Guide

Everything Guyanese employers need to know about work permits for foreign workers — requirements, process, costs, and how BizHub GY helps.

When do you need a work permit?

Any non-Guyanese national employed in Guyana needs a work permit. The employer must sponsor the application and justify why the position cannot be filled locally.

The application process

Applications go to the Ministry of Home Affairs. You'll need: valid passport copies, employment contract, company registration documents, TIN, NIS compliance, and a labour market justification letter.

Processing time

Work permits typically take 4-8 weeks for processing. Renewals should be started 60 days before expiry. Our Pro plan covers up to 2 work permit applications per year.

How BizHub GY helps

We prepare the application package, ensure all documents are correct, and submit to the Ministry. Our agents track progress and follow up on your behalf.

Let BizHub GY handle the paperwork

From NIS registration to GRA compliance and tender alerts — BizHub GY is the all-in-one command center for Guyanese SMEs.
